The Clarion Sunshine Project The past year has been challenging for any organization that relies on events to raise funds, but the needs of those they serve continue. With a mission to help low-income patients at a local non-profit cancer center, this organization helps cancer patients who have enormous out-of-pocket expenses pay for their medical bills. The Clarion Sunshine Project takes away the stress hanging over patients unable to work, improving quality of life. The Norwex Foundation’s grant of $25,000 helps provide complete financial support for four to five patients.

Faces of Courage Rather than focusing on the negative of a cancer or blood illness diagnosis, this small but mighty organization focuses on positive outcomes and healthy living. Faces of Courage uses an integrated approach for cancer patients and survivors, including camper outings and retreats. They focus on the experience of the patient from prediagnosis through treatment to life after cancer. They accept campers from all over the world and offer their programs free of charge. The Foundation’s grant of $20,000 allows their efforts to continue to expand.

Jeremiah’s Crossing Parents with children who have special needs can have extra expenses that add up, often creating hardships and forcing them to choose or forgo potentially life-changing resources. Therapeutic horseback riding is one example. It can help children and adults diagnosed with special needs to connect with the horses and with each other, helping them to find their strengths as they grow. Jeremiah’s Crossing provides therapeutic horseback riding lessons at absolutely no cost to the riders or their families. The Norwex Foundation’s grant of $15,000 helps purchase a safety wall for the arena and an adjustable western saddle.

Camp REACH A summer camp for children who need specialized help with communication and speech, Camp REACH provides a fun camp experience regardless of communication barriers. We were pleased to present a grant for $7,000.

Elevation House Adults living with mental illness can face economic hardships and social isolation. Elevation House uses a clubhouse model to offer its members hope and the chance for long-term success. We were pleased to present a grant for $7,000.

Fostering Hope Encouragement, resources and a helping hand can make all the difference to foster families. Fostering Hope helps support the Missouri foster care community in many important ways. They received a grant for $10,000 to help these precious children in foster care feel loved.

Healing Hearts and Hooves Therapy that pairs adults and children who have disabilities with specially trained horses can be life-changing. Healing Hearts and Hooves is an equine-assisted therapy facility in Oregon that provides opportunities for healing and self-confidence along with improved physical abilities. They received a grant for $10,000.

UniCycle Nashville Students in need want to fit in with their peers. Feeling accepted removes obstacles as they pursue their education. UniCycle Nashville takes outgrown school attire in good condition and upcycles it for redistribution in public schools. They received a grant for $12,000 to help stock school closets for unexpected needs.
